"The Barking Eye"

Returning once again to the good ole Soo are Jason Talifer and Joe Laverne of the band Phatstick. It's been a while since this band has played local ground but they never disappoint when they do play.
Their debut CD still graces my player from time to time and I'm still not sure why these guys just didn't hit the U.S. to try and make it. Sorry, but Canada just seems to be a bit shy on grasping good talent. None the less if you can find their CD, BUY IT! It's one of my favourite local band CD's. Phatstick will be performing at Foggy Notions May 28th.

After a decade of serving our local musicians, Mike Case has turned the helm over of his music store to Jay Case and company. Mike has been and continues to be a well respected music icon in our local community but years of health problems have led him to pass the torch of his well established music teaching school. It is still in the family name and also in good hands as Jay Case will surely continue the Mike Case tradition of quality music lessons. All the best to Mike, Jay and family on their new ventures. ;-)

"The Barking Eye" is a news blog to help promote music in my local area. It's a simple blog that will hopefully help people become aware of local bands, who they are, what they're doing and the music they create. From time to time I will have video interviews and original music showcases. I will also feature some info on local graphic artists from time to time. I wanted to create a very basic info site, that was easy to control and update. This site will deal with all styles of music in our local area which ranges from country, rock, metal, jazz, etc. Stay tuned as the site develops.
